Go to the Pearl website to read my interview with Michael Baroody (Beat Squad) and Chad Sexton (311) about integrating marching percussion with a rock band. I had an absolute blast setting this one up! Still can't show you the full pic but here's a teaser image of Todd Sucherman's new Masterworks Series kit with a Bubinga/Walnut Fade finish and Titanium Rose Gold hardware. It was about go out the door at Pearl but it seemed like such a crime to let that happen without pictures. So a box cutter later, we had the components and hardware scattered all over the studio... time to make the doughnuts! I'm pleased to finally be able to share our video interview with Gavin DeGraw drummer Ian O'Neill. Thanks to MODX and Darkstar Design for the great write-up...! Revolution keeps the beat for Pearl Scott Wespi, CTO of Nashville's Darkstar Design, walks us through the process of how his team helped Pearl Drums execute their vision and freed their Marketing department. MODX Revolution performed perfectly in the spotlight. The new Pearl Drums website uses MODX Revolution (Revo) to serve thousands of visitors every day. When Pearl first approached Darkstar Design to overhaul their website, back in 2007, we were unable to use MODX Evolution due to some limitations with permission and scaling capabilities. Instead, we built Pearl's site with another Content Management System (CMS) that turned out to force inflexible and rigid markup, was difficult to extend, and was not very user friendly. Five years later, we didn’t have to think twice about using Revo. With a powerful caching engine that could support thousands of pages, a robust Access Control (ACL) system for users with different roles and permissions, and an extensive API that we could use to meet Pearl’s unique needs; there really was no better choice for this huge website and its thousands of daily visitors.

NOBODY hypes WGI like Pearl....! And there's also the matter of sweeping the competition by having our groups take the Gold, Silver, and Bronze! Pearl, the world's largest manufacturer of drums & percussion, asked drummers all around the world to send in videos of themselves playing at 108 beats per minute. The following performances are our way of showing that although borders, language, and ideology may separate us, music will always be our common denominator. Watch WAVE ONE.5 here... |
