Leon was coming to town!
This was the closest he had ever been since his visit to the quaint town of Woodbury, TN about an hour outside of Nashville. This was where I first saw him three years earlier (2.23.06) and it was an amazing show... even though the lights had gone out and postponed the show by 40 minutes! I was at a restaurant during lunch and saw that the ad for his show in the local Arts newspaper. I bought my tickets online right away (thanks iPhone!)... now the hard part. Waiting.
Fork's Drum Closet owner Gary Forkum joins drummer JR Robinson during his clinic for a rendition of Boz Scagg's "Lowdown". If you’re a drummer, do yourself a favor and visit their site... if you’re close then stop by the store. Gary owns the kind of drum store that every drummer wishes they had in their town.
A true friend to all Nashville drummers.
Remember my earlier post... well, I continued to follow my own advice and made sure to tell my Dad how much he meant to me as much as possible... always ending our conversations with “..love you”. He passed in the morning hours of Sunday May 31st... peacefully and surrounded by loved ones.
