I wanted to speak on the passing of one of the pioneers of drumming, Buddy Harman. Most may not be familiar with the name (and unfortunately that includes most drummers as well) but without his contributions, there would be a massive gap in Country/Pop music.
I visited with drum tech extraordinaire Sean Bates during his tour with Pearl hardware endorser Jose Pasillas and Incubus. Sean has traveled all over the world using the ICON rack and its components so who better to ask why it’s the leading drum rack out today.
I got the chance to drop in on Mike Wengren and Disturbed while they were recording Believe, the follow-up to their multi-platinum release The Sickness. I wanted to get inside the head of producer Johnny K who has helped catapult the band the worldwide recognition and success.
Pearl Drums: Johnny, thanks for letting us get an insight on how you recorded the drums for Disturbed’s first two releases. How did you go about recording Mike this time as opposed to The Sickness?
Cody Hanson & Hinder rolled into town to perform at the Riverfront Festival (w/ Theory of a Deadman and Staind) and the crowd let them know they were the favorite of the night. Although we missed the acoustic set at The Hard Rock, we had a chance to hear three new tracks from their upcoming CD..... AMAZING! Be prepared for the guys to hit another one out of the park!
This isn’t a review by me but by someone who should absolutely love this movie... if this King Geek Harry Knowles can’t stomach SW:TCW then there really is no hope. Let me also say I’ve highlighted a section that talks about a type of character that has kept me from enjoying a Lucas film since Empire....I suspected that there would be at least “one of those” in this release and looks like I was right....read on:
