He has built a sustained career in the music manufacturing industry with Pearl Corporation, the leader in drums and percussion. Currently, Derek serves as the Marketing Manager of Integrated Media, specializing in digital marketing, social media, and analytics.
He also maintains an active performance schedule and ventured into studio work, contributing drums and percussion to Billboard Top 20 charting releases by Craig Morgan, as well as numerous custom sessions. Derek has also conducted interviews, written product reviews, hosted webinars, and authored articles for outlets such as Modern Drummer Magazine, Tom-Tom Magazine, PearlDrums.com, ModernDrummer.com, and Canto (Digital Asset Management). His work has been featured in Drum Business Magazine and KMWorld.
