Back when SNL was still pretty good, one of the stand out bits was one about Bill Brasky. It put a group of salesmen at a cheap bar (presumably during an out of town convention) and they’re dressed badly, loud, drunk, and stretching their stories as they go along.
This rings true for me because I’ve seen this scenario many times at out of town trade shows.... and it’s like seeing a tidal wave get taller and taller knowing that there’s nothing you can do to keep it from crashing down on you.
In fact, there's one person in particular (who's barely recognized for anything except being extremely problematic in the industry) could’ve been the inspiration for this skit. Give a group of Joe Cubicles a company card, lots of alcohol, and an out of town weekend.... instant Bill Brasky community theater!!
So in my mind, SNL is in on the joke and went through the trouble of making fun of them on national television...
Now enjoy the funny versions!
UPDATE 2.27.18: The only clip online isn't one of the classics... not as good but enough to get the point across.
