Happy 36th Anniversary to Frank Miller’s THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS... the book that changed Batman and comics forever. Here's the picture previously used for my Bio page... an homage to the original DKR cover.

Paulie Carrizzo was one of the absolute best in the industry and I mean as a person and drum tech for Todd Sucherman (and many others) throughout his long career.
I was shocked to hear about his passing today and immediately thought about the absolute immense loss that his friends, family, and the Styx camp must be feeling... Paulie had a larger than life presence. No Spoilers here... maybe I'll do a full review later once it's officially out.
I was at the early IMAX preview tonight and highly recommend going to see The Batman on March 4th... an amazing movie! Also... don't forget where all the Bat-Goodness came from👇 I’m an analytics nerd so I’m doing a Top 9 even though I haven’t seen another one posted yet… #WhattaRebel
Drums & Batman…?!? what a shock😏 No spammy Top 9 apps were used… all natural and organic legwork for the stats for me thank you very much. You play as a drummer moving to a new town in this game. You play through levels of poorly attended cajon gigs as you undercut fellow new drummers in price while searching for the key to unlock drumset abilities. Level up by complimenting vocalists and MDs until they bring you into their circles or banish you for not knowing their personal bossa arrangement of "American Pie". Watch out for hurdles including backstage deli trays, gross hotels, and drunk patrons dancing too close to your kit. While each gig has a different layout, gameplay is extremely repetitive as you spend a lot of time gaining experience to play huge shows only to then perform the same small collection of songs over and over and over again because the audience demands it. Here's the full artwork... I've always been a fan of the classic Atari 2600 painted covers and this is an homage to those...
Watched the 'The Beatles GET BACK', a 3-part documentary on Disney+, and not only do you feel like you're in the room with them during their writing process but you witness the rollercoaster of band dynamics. A lot of those 'push & pull' moments will be familiar if you've ever been part of a creative group (of any kind) but this happens to be with one of the most influential bands in the world.
Critics have commented that it is too long (total runtime is nearly eight hours) and that it shows too many 'small moments' but those are the ones that really humanize them and the situations they're in... they don't get to the historical rooftop performance without them. I definitely have a deeper understanding and appreciation for them and Billy Preston... warts and all. Warning: don't watch this if you're trying to quit smoking because I wouldn't be surprised if the tobacco industry funded this entire project. Which one was more uncomfortable?**BONUS**Here's Mal Evans with his tambourine from The Beatles GET BACK documentary... this takes place before the 'Instant Karma' video.
"I left Twitter because of Roblox. Or rather I made the decision when I was telling my 7 year old off because she was playing it too much and I realised I was standing holding my wife's phone (I don't own one) and looking at a comic-book creator randomly and angrily swearing at no-one in particular that they should wear a mask and a hashtag calling for the firing of a lady who reads the news on British TV for something I can't even remember. I actually paused and wondered what the Hell I was doing. I was living in The Matrix, getting angry or delighted by nothing in particular while dead-eyed Jack Dorsey sits back in his giant electric egg and feeds on our passions like they're M&Ms."
"Basically, I realised that I was completely wasting my time as much as my seven year old was as she built a house in Brook Haven, but as a man I should know better. So I logged off, handed the account over to our brilliant marketing team in LA (who run our Facebook and Instagram pages) and stepped back into the real world." On this day, May 12th, 1994... I was in Day 3 of a 5-day run at Chubby's Country Palace Night Club in Heath, OH with a female vocalist, Biada. The band was a typical bass, drums, keys, guitar configuration and we were on the road constantly for two years before imploding in Anchorage... but that's another story.
